We would like to research on internet security especially in the area of MySQL databases. This include prevention of SQL injection and port blocking. Also, we would like to research about the use of AJAX in web development and the benefits of using AJAX, which includes reducing server load.

Since the early days of writing, heads of state and military commanders understood that it was necessary to provide some mechanism to protect the confidentiality of written correspondence and to have some means of detecting tampering. Julius Caesar is credited with the invention of the Caesar cipher ca. 50 B.C., which was created in order to prevent his secret messages from being read should a message fall into the wrong hands. World War II brought about many advancements in information security and marked the beginning of the professional field of information security. The end of the 20th century and early years of the 21st century saw rapid advancements in telecommunications, computing hardware and software, and data encryption. The availability of smaller, more powerful and less expensive computing equipment made electronic data processing within the reach of small business and the home user. These computers quickly became interconnected through a network generically called the Internet or World Wide Web. The rapid growth and widespread use of electronic data processing and electronic business conducted through the Internet, along with numerous occurrences of international terrorism, fueled the need for better methods of protecting the computers and the information they store, process and transmit. The academic disciplines of computer security, information security and information assurance emerged along with numerous professional organizations - all sharing the common goals of ensuring the security and reliability of information systems.

The purpose of our study is to protect the MySQL database that contains the medical profile of the users of our iPhone Web Application (iNotOld), thus enhancing the security of our site.

Since our product is a web portal. Privacy is very important. Therefore we must ensure that our databases are fully secure and no information would be leaked.
We would like to create a web application that specifically targets the silver industry or the senior citizen. Our project aims to help elderly keep in touch in technology through an easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI).
Our application revolves around two major aspects, emergency and daily life. In case of emergency one can quickly dial emergency numbers with a touch of a button. In case one is sent to the hospital, there is no need for the doctors to dig out one's medical history and allergies as this is stored in the application which can be accessed with a touch. Another feature is the location feature. We have incorporated gothere.sg into our web application. With a touch, one can quickly locate himself and post his location to his family members just like a status update in Tumblr, Facebook or Twitter. Family members would then be able to find out their location if they are lost and can also track them if needed. With the gothere.sg api, the user can also find amenities that are near him. There is also a directions feature, where the user is able to find out the directions from one place to another.
As for the daily life aspect, our application can store up to 6 numbers for speed dialing. Another feature would be games. We created a matching game, spot the flower game and an Evade game, which makes use of the accelerometer function of the iPhone.
